On the afternoon of August 16th, The "2018 Guangdong- Hong Kong Services Industry Exchange Meeting" and the launch of "Directory of Guangdong-Hong Kong Services Enterprises(2018)" was held in Guangzhou. The meeting was jointly sponsored by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Chamber of commerce in China-Guangdong. Over 200 representatives from the services industry of Hong Kong and Guangdong participated in the meeting. Vice President of CCPIT Foshan, Liu Weijun was invited to attend the meeting.
In July 2018, the State Council issued the "Approval on Agreeing to Deepen the Development and Innovation of Services Industry Pilot " and pilots were established in 17 regions, including Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Hong Kong sevices industry could benefit from the gradual relaxation in China restrictions on services trade. It will provide more opportunities for Hong Kong's service industry to expand their business in mainland China and have more changes to cooperate with mainland service enterprises. The purpose of meeting is to assist mainland enterprises and consumers know more about Hong Kong service enterprises and service providers in Guangdong, to explore more opportunities for cooperation.
Ma Xingyu, deputy director of the office of China (Guandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, mentioned at the meeting that the cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong has been deepening in recent years. Bilateral investment cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong is constantly upgrading. In 2017, Hong Kong's investment accounted for about 80% of the total amount of Guangdong's foreign investment. Guangdong's actual investment in Hong Kong has exceeded 5 billion and accounted for about 60% of the total amount of Guangdong 's investment abroad. Government will support Guangdong Free Trade Zone to become as a demonstration zone in Greater bay area by focusing on promoting the opening up process for Hong Kong's service industry, further improving the bilateral cooperation mechanism, strengthening information exchange between Guangdong and Hong Kong, promoting scientific and technological innovation, facilitating bilateral investment and trade, and building a new cooperation mode and multi-cooperation platform.
According to introducing, "Directory of Guangdong-Hong Kong Services Enterprises(2018)" is jointly compiled by Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Chamber of commerce in China-Guangdong. This directory collected the information of more than a thousand Hong Kong service enterprises which are located in Pearl River Delta region. Those enterprises covering the sectors of finance services, professional services, real estate services and so on. The aim of this directory is to facilitate mainland enterprises and people to contact with Hongkong service providers in Guangdong. Besides printed and web versions,'s mobile version also has been launched this year.
